This is a pretty set when you want some sparkle at your door but don’t want it to be overpowering. It will go with any architectural style and the plates are wide enough to cover a multitude of flaws on your door – even a big ugly hole from a modern door set! I have it shown with the glass knob outside and brass inside but they can be switched as your preference dictates. This set can be used on a door between 1-3/8” and 1-5/8” thick. The adjustment for thickness is made by screwing/unscrewing the two part spindle between the doorknobs (see photo of knobs).

All pieces are solid heavy wrought brass with a pretty caramel patina. The lock cylinder is newer and rather shiny but will darken with age and use. Two keys are included. The lock face plate has a small nick at the top edge. The plates have some minor scratching and the exterior plate has a small dent that can be seen in the larger picture just under the glass door knob. The pre-1915 glass knob is in excellent condition with only a couple of small wear areas. The brass knob is permanently attached to the spindle. The only strike plate I could find was shiny silver so I painted it bronze to match the other pieces. Not the best paint job but it will wear from use anyway. All screws (with matching patina) are included.
The lock is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The lock provides night security (in addition to the deadbolt) where pushing one of the buttons on the faceplate prohibits the strike from retracting from the exterior (the outside doorknob will not turn).  The door can still be opened from the inside.  If this function is engaged and you need to enter the house, you turn the key in the cylinder (which retracts the strike) and simply push the door open. Pushing the other button releases it and both knobs now turn.  Another level of security is provided by the deadbolt which can be thrown by the key on the outside and the thumb turn on the inside. Both also retract it. If both the button and deadbolt functions are locked you can still enter the house with the cylinder key. One revolution retracts the deadbolt and a second partial revolution retracts the strike. Again, you would then simply push the door open.

This lock is reversible for a right or left hand door and I will set it for you before shipping. In the Comments section at checkout you need to let me know 1) Does your door open in or out? 2) Standing in front of the door where you can see the hinge barrels (closed door) are the hinges on your left or right?
