This is an elegant little set with a round glass knob for one side of the door and a cast brass lever for the other side. Pictures do not do the glass knob justice. The floating silver mercury inside the bright clear glass just sparkles from all angles. The door plates, with working security latch, are brass plated steel and do not appear to have ever been used. The latch, made by Sargent & Co., has an aged brass plated face plate and a cast iron casing. There is no strike plate included.
All pieces are in exceptionally good condition. The glass doorknob does not have a single chip or scratch and is seated firmly in the brass setting. Brass on the doorknob and lever has been polished slightly to go with the dull brass plating of the plates. The latch has been oiled and works perfectly.
Set fits door 1-1/4” to 1-5/8” thick. If your door is thinner you can purchase doorknob spacers
DSP1003 . Two spacers equal about 1/16”. Up to 4 spacers can be used with this set. The doorknob protrudes 2-1/8” from the door when installed without spacers. If used for a screen door it would probably be best mounted on the outside.
