Plates & Rosettes

Antique back plates and rosettes (round back plates) are an important part of antique door hardware for both function and beauty. They set off the antique doorknobs while protecting the door from wear. You might be looking for something to match a missing item in your historic home or want to create a set with your own unique choice of antique hardware. Please note that not all doorknobs fit all door plates or rosettes. Pay attention to the dimensions of both. I try to give measurements as close as possible but sometimes just a millimeter difference prohibits the knob from sitting in the plate properly. If you already have the lock or latch, be sure the plate dimensions work with it. If you are ordering a set I will check them before completing the order. For those of you with pre-drilled modern doors that are being retrofitted for antique hardware, note that there are some door plates here that will cover the filled hole.
