Victorian Antique Through-the-Wall Twist Doorbell

Loads of Victorian detail adorns the twist for this turn of the century doorbell.  This doorbell was set up with an extra long rod so it can be mounted on your exterior wall rather than on the door.  The ornate cast bronze (copper plated?) twist has a dark caramel patina.  The bell for inside is simple with a worn nickel plated brass dome and a wrought iron base with wear to the finish and a few small paint smears as noted in the photo.  Great ring – much like an old telephone - that can be heard throughout the house!  

The interior of the bell has been cleaned and this set operates perfectly. The operating rod is permanently attached to the twist and allows a total wall thickness of 7-3/8”.  If your exterior wall is thinner (or you wish to mount it on your door) the rod can be cut/filed down. There is a bit of surface rust on the interior of the bell that does not effect its operation.
