Unusual White Porcelain Doorknob with Bronze Shaft

White porcelain doorknobs were a mainstay during the 1800’s and the plain ones are quite common.  Not so with this one!  The raised band on the edge sets it apart from the rest as does the rare bronze shaft.

This doorknob is in very good antique condition with some wear to the edges of the band and a few scattered age spots.  The shaft was originally nickel plated but most has worn off leaving a medium patina to the exposed bronze.
