Two Sets Early 20th Century Brass and Oak Door Hardware

These sets were made by Norwalk in the very early 1900’s. All parts are still in excellent condition with solid oak knobs and wrought brass rosettes, keyhole covers and lock faces with a mottled patina. Even the original brass mounting screws are included!

The oak knobs have no cracks or dings to the wood although you might want to refinish them. One pair of knobs is darker than the other pair and there are some scrapes to the varnish. On one of the lighter ones there was what appeared to be a dab of dark varnish (perhaps when they were re-doing a door?) so I tried some denatured alcohol to remove it. Didn’t do much to remove the dab but we now know the other varnish can be removed with denatured alcohol easily :o) There may be another solvent that would remove it but I decided to quit while I was ahead. The knobs have brass shafts with patina that are firmly attached to the wood.

The locks were taken apart and cleaned. They both operate perfectly and have the standard dings on the face plates from use over the years. They are reversible for right or left hand doors. Just open the casing and flip the strike over. I do not have a skeleton key for the deadbolts but will guarantee they both work as they should. If you wish to use that function, see your local locksmith to have a key (or keys) made.

The above price is for both sets. You will receive 4 knobs with spindles and set screws, 4 rosettes, 4 keyhole covers, 2 mortise locks and all mounting screws. There are no strike plates included. You can find reproductions that will work with these locks easily.
