Looking for matching hardware for your front and back doors? These high quality Sargent & Company sets are for you! For the outside there are heavy cast bronze knobs and rectangular door plates with a rich reddish patina. The knobs sit on high thick collars and impart a simple elegance. There is lots of sparkle on the inside of your doors with brilliant glass knobs and highly polished cast brass rosettes and thumb turns. New brass cylinder locks are keyed alike for your convenience. No more searching for separate keys. The above price is for both sets!
All parts are in excellent antique condition. The exterior bronze parts have normal minor dings and scratches with some mottling to the patina. The interior knobs and rosettes are not absolutely identical but would have to be mounted right next to each other to tell the difference. I note only one tiny flea bite on one glass knob. The heavy cast brass thumb turns to throw the deadbolt from the inside are newer but match beautifully.
The locks have been taken apart and fully reconditioned. The old black paint on the cast iron casings were wire brushed and both the interior and exterior were repainted. The bronze face plates of the locks have some dings as would be expected and both have a medium patina. The locks are signed by Sargent on the deadbolt nose. All mounting screws are included. No strike plates are included. If needed I can direct you to a reproduction hardware company to obtain one.
The locks are reversible for a right or left hand door. Simply open the lock casing and flip the strike over. Due to the difference in the height of the interior rosettes one set will accommodate a door thickness up to 1-3/4 and the other set allows 2. If your door is thicker you will need to replace the knob spindle(s).
