Two + Extra Ornate Antique Victorian Hinges by Russell & Erwin

Made by Russell & Erwin around 1887 these 4” x 4” antique hinges have a splendid mix of geometric and foliate designs! Look closely to see the bowl of flowers towards the top and along the bottom a row of urns. As wonderful as the designs are the condition is just as fabulous. They look almost brand new with their bright bronze plating on the high areas and thick black paint in the recessed areas.

The only issue with the two primary hinges is that the pins were missing and I had to replace them with slightly different ones. They have an incised banding and are not as “gold” as the originals. The third hinge is an extra that has quite a bit of wear and it is being held together by a nail rather than a pin (a slightly thicker nail would be better). I’m including that hinge in case you need an extra. Painting the dark cast iron of that hinge and the pins for the other two would make them all blend together.  The pins and lower finials remove easily and are interchangeable.
