Two Branford “Oriental” or Corbin Cast Iron Sash Lifts

Ah, these old hardware manufacturers were such copy cats! This pattern is shown in both the Branford and Corbin hardware catalogs from the late 1800’s. Beautiful Eastlake detailing with the upside down fan featured in the “Oriental” design by Branford Lock Works while Corbin did not “name” the design. Although they are authentic originals there is no part number on the backs so we do not know which manufacturer made them.

One lift has the thin bronze plating on the high portions but it has almost completely worn off the other. With that one you need to tilt it just right to see any at all. Made of strong cast iron they will never bend and can be used with either one or two per window.
