Turn of the Century Cottage Farm House Twist Doorbell

Not all homes during the Victorian era had fancy hardware and this doorbell goes with the simpler styles. Made and signed by P & F Corbin around 1900 the brass plating has worn down to the steel giving it a special homespun appeal. Charming indeed!

The bell dome and twist are constructed of wrought steel with a worn mottled brass plating. The plating carries over onto the cast iron base. The interior of the bell has some surface rust but operates perfectly. The operating rod has been lost over the years and I will provide a new replacement. This allows you the opportunity of mounting the bell on your door or on the adjacent wall. I will provide an 8” operating rod and you can cut to precise size at the time of installation. The steel 3/16” square rod is easily cut.
