Around the turn of the century (1800-1900) travel in opulent railroad cars was the choice of refined people both here and in Europe. The ornate hardware for the saloon and coach cars rivaled that used in homes and offices. These window stops were used to keep a window open and would lend an interesting conversation piece to the windows in your home. All but one were made by Adams & Westlake – who created the majority of the artistic railroad hardware – and are signed on the handle. The fourth is by another maker from the same time period. Manufacturers frequently copied (stole) designs from other makers. That one will be the last sold.

These stops are sold individually. The above price is for one stop and the number In Stock indicates how many I have available. These are missing the catch but a hole drilled in the adjacent wood to accept the rod will work just fine. Springs are strong and they all work perfectly. Made of solid cast bronze with original black background intact.

Stop measures 1-1/4” wide x 2-1/2” high
