This is a single 6” x 6” lift off hinge for a right hand door.  Maybe you’re missing one or one of yours has been damaged. The design is an ornate foliate arrangement tied in the middle with a beaded band and the beading carries over to the very ornate finials. A coordinated pattern is on the back so that it can be seen when the door is closed. The design was patented by William Gorman for Russell & Erwin Manufacturing Co. in 1869 and it is apparent why they felt it was worthy of their exclusive right to manufacture. A copy of the patent will be provided to the buyer.

It is made of solid thick cast bronze with patina. There is a bit of verdigris at the bottom finial that you can see in the photo. Note that your door needs to be at least 2” thick to use this size hinge. This one is for a right hand door (if you stand at the door where you can see the hinge barrels, the hinges would be on the left). A lift off hinge allows you to remove your door by simply lifting it off the hinges without unscrewing them.

Price is for one hinge.

Size: 6” x 6”
