Single Antique Cast Iron Swing Arm Window Sash Lock

This is a pretty little cast iron lock from the late 1800’s. Made of solid cast iron the incising and fancy finials are a great example of Victorian hardware. It has a spring mechanism that keeps the lock in place – either open or closed.  A little nudge and the bar pops back against the plate.

Although in perfect operating condition the lock portion has some pitting from past rust. The black iron patina disguises it somewhat and the area of the lock that is adjacent to the catch is hidden from view when your window is closed.
