These heavy cast bronze 4” x 4” hinges are of the highest quality and are sure to gain attention at your entry or even on a special interior door. The finials are cast with a ball & claw so popular in the Victorian era. The field pattern consists of tiny ivy leaves and the band accents retain all of the original black enamel to make the designs more prominent. The design carries over to the backs so even with the door shut they are spectacular. Be sure to enlarge the photos to see all the fabulous detail! I’ve taken photos of each hinge front and back and also included a photo showing how they come apart.

The hinges were made by Branford Lock Works and the design was patented on January, 8, 1884 inscribed on the back of each hinge. They dubbed the design “Ivy” as shown in their hardware catalogs. A copy of that patent will be provided via email for your house files.

These are lift off hinges made for a right hand (if you stand at the door where you can see the hinge barrels, the hinges would be on the left) door. If you need to remove the door then rather than removing a pin or unscrewing the hinge you simply lift it off the hinges. The hinges cannot be used for a left hand door.

The above price is for all three hinges.
