Rare and beautiful is a winning combination for the front of your majestic home!  These doorbell pulls are very scarce and to find one by Russell & Erwin in such perfect condition is astonishing to say the least.  The original dark caramel patina is perfect on all surfaces of the cast bronze knob and rosette and the design, which was so special it required a patent, is superb.  The design was patented by W. Gorman (for R & E) in 1874 and this pull is shown in R & E’s hardware catalog of 1887.  A copy of the patent and catalog page will be included with purchase.

I have two bells that will work with this pull (DB1019 & DB1023) or you may have your own bell.  I’ve included a photo of how these pulls are installed for your reference.  The rosette consists of two parts.  The threaded part screws into the wood of the house and holds the rosette flush.  The knob is pulled to cause the bell to ring and the bell spring pulls the knob back in place.  Although the pull spindle stops as shown in the photo, I’ve included a cotter pin (spread when installed) just to be sure.  This pull must be installed through a wall.  It will not work through a door.

The only issue I note is a small nick on the edge of the rosette.

Knob 1-3/4” diameter
Rosette 2” diameter
