An ornate rim lock set with matching doorknobs and trim is very rare. All parts were made by Branford Lock Works around 1880 and are covered with Eastlake detail. The doorknobs have incising on both the front and back and the design reminds me of a snowflake!

When I received this set the lock was so covered with thick paint that the design could barely be seen.  All the paint and rust were removed and every piece in the lock was taken out and cleaned/oiled as well. The cast iron on all pieces in this set is in exceptional condition and I’ve lightly coated (and wiped down) each piece with oil to prohibit any rust from forming.

The lock works perfectly.  There is a finger latch on the top of the lock which provides privacy from the lock side of the room while a skeleton key (not included) throws the deadbolt from either side.  The lock is reversible for a right or left handed door. The lock can be mounted with either side against the door (one side with a faux screw) and the strike can be reversed.  It’s rather complicated explaining how to reverse the strike so if you let me know in the Comments section which hand door you have I’ll set it for you. A spindle and all original mounting screws (not pictured) are included.  You may order a key by going to DSP1007
