This toadstool shaped doorknob design was one of the first used for glass and porcelain doorknobs. The metal has been polished and is now shiny silver again. I suspect the metal is pewter since the rosettes are quite soft. The porcelain has some discoloration on sides/back of one knob (sort of a cloudy gray) but the other knob has only one tiny scratch and there are a couple of nicks/dents on one rosette. Not bad after all these years of use!
Now for the technical stuff! One doorknob has the spindle pinned and the other doorknob is attached by a pin through the entire ferrule. The original pin was missing and I’ve included a steel replacement. This spindle is currently sized for a door 1-1/2” thick. For a thinner door you would need to cut the spindle (before drilling a hole for the pin) and if your door is thicker you will need to replace the entire spindle. To replace the spindle you would need a 1/4” square rod that you would drill holes in. Tap the pin out of the doorknob and re-use the pin in the new spindle.
Doorknobs are 2-3/8” in diameter
Doorknobs sit 2-1/4” tall
Rosettes are 1-7/8” diameter
