Own a unique piece of American history! As the Orient Express was carrying travelers in style across Europe, here in America we were not to be outdone. The well-to-do traveled by train with opulent coach, sleeper, saloon and dining cars that were outfitted to rival any Victorian home of the time.  Adams & Westlake, the maker of this fine set, was the premier provider of hardware for these luxury cars and an entire catalog was devoted to their line. Even if you are not restoring a railroad car this set would be a wonderful conversation piece for a special door in your home!

All pieces are made of solid thick cast bronze with only a few minor dings. The turn knob on the lock side throws a small deadbolt and the brass key operates it from the other side. The keeper was cast in bronze from an original match to this set (at no small cost I might add) and bears slight imperfections just like the original. The patina is slightly different as it has not been in use as the other pieces have but a coat of paste was will make the patina match a bit more or all pieces could be polished. The lock operates perfectly in all respects. This lock is not reversible and is for a right hand door only.

Lock is 3-15/16” high x 5-7/8” wide
Backset is 5”

Note: If you have this same lock and are missing the catch (which frequently happens) I had a second keeper cast and it is available for sale. Contact me for a price.
