Petite Screen Door Knob or Large Cabinet Pull

Lucky for us that decades ago we were not such a “throw away” society!  Our ancestors used what they had when a need came up and that has resulted in some truly unique hardware.  These pieces started life as a tiny door plate and a porcelain drawer or cabinet knob.  When the doorknob collar on the plate was sheared off  (how did THAT happen!?) it didn’t work well for a doorknob but, with the addition of the porcelain knob, became a stunning cabinet door pull.  It would also make an elegant screen door pull since the door plate is so small and narrow.  For other items for screen doors, enter the keyword SCREEN in the Search box to the left of your monitor.

The lovely beaded plate is made of heavy solid cast brass with a natural aged patina. Of course, the keyhole is only a decorative element now. The porcelain knob shows its age on the surface but has no chips or cracks.  Also included are brass antique slotted screws for the door plate and a steel screw for the center of the knob.  If you choose to polish the plate, you might want to replace the steel screw with a brass one to match.
