These ornate cast iron door plates were made by Branford Lock Works in the late 1800’s. Some call this the Butterfly or Lotus pattern but Branford did not name the design. These plates look spectacular with black glazed mineral clay knobs! You can order a pair by going to DK1083
and I will send you knobs that fit the doorknob collars of these plates.
These plates have had the black background paint replaced and were given a lacquer clear coat to protect the mostly remaining bronze wash (plating) on the high portions. The bronze doorknob collar was taped off so there is no lacquer there. You can polish the collars or let them age for more patina.
Made of thick solid cast iron with bronze doorknob collars. Nice and straight with no bends, breaks or rust.
The above price is for one pair of door plates as shown in the photo.
