These door knobs were made by Penn Hardware between 1885 and 1907 – attesting to their popularity! The fourfold design features lots of geometrics and stylized flowers on both the front and backs. Be sure to enlarge the photos to see all the detail. In addition to use with rosettes or door plates these knobs would make a wonderful “dress up” paired with an old rim lock.

They were originally bronze plated but that has worn off on all but the lower areas here and there on the fronts and some on the backs near the shafts. It makes for an interesting mix of colors and history. They are made of heavy cast iron with no chips, cracks or damage. There is some wear to the design from loving hands over the decades which gives them a nice mellow appearance and feel.

The knobs are sold by the pair. The above price is for 2 knobs and one spindle with set screws.
