Pair P F Corbin Ceylon Bronze Doorknobs

These beautiful wrought bronze doorknobs were made by P & F Corbin and the pattern is featured in their 1895 hardware catalog.  The named design, Ceylon, has a fantastic mix of geometrics and flowers.  The spindle is stuck in one knob but I was able to pull it out enough for you to access all three holes for the set screw. The spindle can be tapped in to align whichever screw hole you need but will not come out any more than shown in the photo. I am leaving it all the way out to be adjusted at the time of installation. It’s a lot easier to tap it in than to pull it out.

Other than the stuck spindle (which isn’t really a problem since it’s supposed to be inside the doorknob) there are no issues with this set. No scratches, dents or cracks and both knobs have a nice medium patina. The holes for the new brass set screws have been tapped so the set is easy to install.
