These shiny doorknobs are made of reddish mineral clay that has a thick clear glaze - similar to a ceramic item. There are two sets available – one solid dark mahogany and the other dark brown with speckling. These knobs are for use with an antique rim lock and were used from the mid 1800’s to the early 1900’s. The flared shaft goes against the surface mounted lock and the straight shaft goes in a rosette for the other side of the door. Steel spindle with original set screws is included. These knobs are sold as a pair. You will receive two knobs and a spindle with set screws for the above price.

These doorknobs are in very good antique condition.  They have minor scratches and some scrapes that have been colored in to blend.  As always, forgive the camera glare spots – those are not blemishes. The iron knob shafts have been wire brushed and painted black as they originally were.  Since these knobs are not hollow the spindles only insert up to a certain point. If you find that the spindle is too long, cutting it to shorten the amount that goes into the doorknob will solve the problem. Cut where the unneeded screw holes are.

Price above is for two doorknobs and one spindle with set screws. Please indicate in the Comments section at checkout if you prefer the Speckled or Dark Solid set.

Diameter 2-1/4”
