Pair Antique Cabinet or Pantry Door Hinges – Corbin “Diagonal”

These small 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” hinges are quite hard to find and these are in fantastic condition! Made by P & F Corbin in the late 1800’s they dubbed the design “Diagonal”. Much of the ornamental hardware in the Victorian Era was festooned with designs of Oriental and Egyptian themes and this is a perfect example.
 
They have no wear to the bronze plating and the black japanned paint background is fully intact. At some point they were given a lacquer clear coat which is still in excellent condition. There are some areas on the backs where there was previous rust but that can’t be seen and is now covered with lacquer. One pin removes easily and the other I didn’t try to remove for fear of damaging the lacquer.  They swivel a tiny bit tight but probably due to the lacquer and should loosen with use.
