Pair Antique Bronze Doorknobs – Reading “Mura”

Adorned with a central Victorian posy, these doorknobs were made by Reading Hardware Company around 1895 and they named the design Mura.  The knobs are made of bronze and have a nice medium patina. 

It is unlikely the set screw on one could be removed without drilling but will work “as is” for a door up to 1-3/4” thick (unless you have REALLY thick door plates).   The knob that is on the spindle is made of wrought bronze while the other knob has a solid cast bronze base with a wrought bronze top.  Quite interesting!
