P F Corbin Ceylon Passage Doorknobs – Bargain!

These beautiful wrought bronze antique doorknobs were made by P & F Corbin and are featured in their 1895 hardware catalog.  The named design, Ceylon, has a fantastic mix of geometrics and flowers.

These doorknobs were made in three parts (the domed top, the knob base and the shaft portion) and the parts were crimped together.  Over time the crimped part (noted in photo) and the knobs wiggle slightly.  There is no play when they are turned. They are still completely functional but I have discounted them accordingly.  Inventory on these knobs changes frequently so the photos are representative of the general patina.

The doorknobs in this pattern and style run slightly different in diameter at 1-1/8" to a bit under 1-1/4" diameter.
