Ornate Norwalk Antique Strike Plate for Mortise Lock

Norwalk produced some very Egyptian influenced hardware during the late 1800’s and this strike plate is no exception. Made of thick cast bronze the incising is still crisp and clear on both sides even after all these years. The strike/deadbolt holes have been cut sometime in the past as was frequently done when doors settled. It was far easier to cut the strike plate than to re-work the entire door!
