Ornate Corbin “Ceylon” Cast Bronze Strike Plates - Polished

These ornate strike plates were made by P & F Corbin around the turn of the century for their Ceylon design hardware. Don’t restrict them to just Ceylon hardware though! This design will go with a multitude of mortise locks. The design is on one side only and they are reversible for right or left hand doors by simply rotating them.

These cast bronze strike plates have been polished and lacquered. If you want them to age, just remove the lacquer and they will do so naturally. I can tell you how – just ask. As frequently happens with these antique strike plates they have been cut in the past. Old doors settled and it was far easier to modify the strike plate than to re-work the door. With these the center bar was removed and the ones on the left and right have had some minor cutting at the top opening (enlarge the photo to see it clearly). The strike plates are still fully functional and the modifications serve to make your installation easier!
