Ornate Broken Leaf Door Set with Keyed Lock

This set is by Lockwood Manufacturing Company in what has become known as the Broken Leaf design. Although they did not actually name the pattern, as many manufacturers did, its common name is derived from the patent filed March 22, 1887 by Thomas Village wherein he describes the design as a vase with flowers and leaves, one leaf is represented as broken. The vase on these door plates is on a raised pedestal and just shouts Victorian!

These door plates are made of cast iron with only an extremely small loss of the bronze plating on the high portions. The black background paint is in place and they have been lacquer clear coated to protect them. The black glazed clay door knobs are in very good condition with only very minor scratching and no chips. The lock has been taken apart and cleaned to operate perfectly. The included replacement skeleton key throws the deadbolt smoothly to lock/unlock your door. The plain lock face plate is also bronze and matches the color of the plates perfectly. The brass strike plate has been cut sometime in the past (happens a lot with old strike plates) but still functions as it should.

The lock is reversible for either a right or left hand door. Just open the casing and flip the strike over.

Spacing: Center of door knob hole to center of round portion of keyhole 2-3/16”
Lock face: 7/8” x 5-3/8”
