This c. 1880 antique mortise lock was made by Branford Lock Works in their well known “Oriental” pattern. Ornate aesthetic detailing on the cast iron faceplate remains crisp and clear. There is very little wear to the original bronze plating and the black background really makes it pop out!. The faceplate has been given a lacquer clear coat to preserve it.
The BLW signed lock casing is cast iron. This lock is reversible for right or left hand doors. Remove one screw, flip the strike over and close the lock again. Ready for another 100 years of use!
