Ornate 1800’s Reading “Windsor” Security Chain Lock

Peek out to see who’s at your door with style! This heavy cast iron chain lock is as beautiful as it is practical. Made by Reading Hardware Company in the late 1800’s in their Windsor pattern which includes arrows, stylized flowers and picketing around the edges.

This set is made of heavy cast iron with a thick steel chain. It was painted a matte black sometime in the past and the paint is in such good condition I opted to leave it alone. Note that the color is truer on the larger photo. If you want the designs to just POP out, just use some extremely fine sandpaper on the high areas and watch them turn silver!

The larger plate (that accepts the chain) is 6-1/4” x 1-5/16”
The smaller plate (with the chain) is 2-5/16” x 1-5/16”
The chain (links only) is 8-1/2” long
