New Old Stock Rabbited Brass French Door Latch

These great little latches are perfect for French doors. The narrow casing fits neatly into very narrow door stiles frequently found on glass paned doors. Made by Reading Hardware in the early 1900’s they have never been used.

These latches have a pivoting bar rather than a striker that goes in and out. The bar latches the door with a turn of the knob and unlatches when the knob is turned back. It is not spring loaded so the bar stays in position until the next time the knob is turned.

The rabbited latch face and strike plate are solid cast brass and the latch casing is cast iron. Original brass mounting screws are included. I have 3 of Option A and 2 of Option B available.  Above price is for one latch and strike plate. Please make your choice per the photo based upon your door(s) construction.

Total width of the faceplate and matching strike is 7/8” and height is 4-3/16”.  Latch casing is 5/8”. Other dimensions are noted in the photo.
