In the mid 1800’s this doorknob started life as a mercury knob. At that time the mercury coated the interior of the glass giving it a silver “mirror” look. Over the years (as with mirrors in general) the coating has deteriorated. It now has an almost floating opal look and is really quite charming.
This was once part of a set with a doorknob on the other side. I think it would be perfect now as a stationary pull! Just add a nut and washer(s) on the back. The original rosette was missing so I’ve provided a replacement although it you are using it as a pull it really isn’t necessary.
Diameter 2-1/4”
