Large Arts & Crafts Letter Slot from First Half 20th Century

This large mail slot is an excellent example of the Arts & Crafts movement. It appears hand wrought with a handsome shape and hammered finish. It is made of cast brass (or maybe even nickel or pewter?) that has turned a medium gray color with just a hint of gold to it. The screws match the patina quite well but appear more gold due to the camera flash.
