These sash pulls are frequently overlooked during salvage operations because they have been painted over and have become almost invisible. It is amazing to me that these beautiful designs would ever be painted over but I guess they were not cherished years ago like they are today.
Unlike the sash “lifts” that are recessed into the lower sash to raise them, these go in the upper sash at the top (on the very high windows in historic homes) so that it can be lowered without getting a stool to reach the top. A circular cut-out is made so that it fits flush with the wood and the pull down hook (not included) pulls the window down enough so that you can then grip the window with your hands. I’ve included two photos of another sash pull for you to see how the hook operates with them.
The construction is thick cast bronze and they have varied levels of original patina with darker background. Polish the high areas and the designs will really pop out from across the room. They are all in excellent condition with no bends, cracks or repairs.
These sash pulls are sold individually. The above price is for one pull.
