This little latch has a stepped beveled edge and faux screw. It is set up for use on a door that is inset where the standard catch or keeper cannot be used.  There is no locking function so it is ideal on a closet or pantry – although strong enough for any door!

These pieces were covered with thick lead based paint as well as the original black enamel. The latch was taken apart and each piece was individually cleaned.  The latch, T-strike and rosette were then painted with a glossy black automotive lacquer much like the original enamel.  I’ve even painted the mounting screw heads so that they match. How’s that for attention to detail!?!

These latches are the simplest ever to install. Just drill one hole through the door for the doorknob spindle, screw the pieces on and add the doorknobs! The T-strike would be routed into the door jamb or molding.

This set includes the latch, strike plate, rosette and mounting screws. This door hardware was most frequently installed with porcelain or mineral clay (black, brown & swirled) doorknobs. To purchase those doorknobs enter "rim lock" (with quotes) in the Search box and you will see all items relating to rim locks.

Note that the latch has a 1/8” lip that overhangs the edge of the door (see photo with measurements)
Steel strike plate: 3/4” x 2-1/4” without tongue
Rosette:  1-7/8” diameter
