Elegant Vintage Cast Brass Vertical Mail or Letter Slot

This elegant set was made in the very early 20th century by Reading Hardware in their Rockland pattern (signed on the back). It features a refined stepped border along the edges with simple lettering. These vertical mail slots are very hard to find – especially with the matching interior plate!

These pieces have not been polished and retain a warm medium patina. Both are in excellent condition with no dings or scratches. The spring is still present and strong to keep the door firmly closed. When you are standing outside looking at the exterior piece the hinges for the flap are to the left of the lettering. Mounting screws are included but not pictured.
