Egyptian Motif Cast Iron Keyhole Escutcheon by Trenton

Shown in the 1887 Trenton hardware catalog this keyhole cover has a decided Egyptian feel to the design. During the Victorian era people were enthralled with all things Egyptian, Persian or Oriental and this is a perfect example. Note the little faux tassels on the bottom!

This keyhole cover appears to have the original black paint and is in excellent condition.
