The mechanics of this doorbell are simple but the design and detail are anything but! Made in the early 1800s there are no makers marks to boast about the fantastic detail. Flowers, hearts and stylized leaves form a concentric design on the top with picketing around the edges. The shapely pull has a simple silver cross design that can be seen through the glass atop a brass or bronze ferule with matching rosette.

The bell is made of brass with nickel plating with absolutely no wear to brass. The photos may give a gold cast but the dome is bright silver. The bracket portion to attach the bell is also brass with mechanical moving parts being cast iron. All parts have been oiled and operate smoothly. I find only one tiny scratch on the glass pull. This doorbell should be installed through the wall with a wire between the bell and pull per top example of methods to operate doorbells (catalog photo).

You might want to take a look at a set of doorknobs that match the pull. I have included a photo of them with this doorbell set but they are NOT included in the price for this item. To see more photos of the doorknobs enter DS1072 in the Search box to your left.

Bell 4-3/4” diameter
