The mechanics of this doorbell are simple but the design and detail are anything but!  Made in the early 1800s there are no makers marks to boast about the fantastic detail.  Flowers, hearts and stylized leaves form a concentric design on the top with picketing around the edges.

Amazingly I have another doorbell like this one where I have provided a pull.  With this one you can choose a pull here, use one you already have or (for you creative folks!) create one yourself.

The bell is made of brass with nickel plating with absolutely no wear down to the brass.  The bracket portion to attach the bell is also brass with mechanical moving parts being cast iron.  All parts have been oiled and operate smoothly.  The original spring was missing so I’ve replaced it. This doorbell should be installed through the wall with a wire between the bell and pull per top and bottom example of methods to operate doorbells (catalog photo).  A wire would attach to the same hole where the spring is.

Bell 4-3/4” diameter
