Craftsman Turn of the Century Lever Doorbell

This doorbell set has the Craftsman style feel even though it was manufactured in the late 1800s. The large bell gives a hearty GONG with a pull on the elegantly simple lever. It would also go very well with a Victorian, Mission or Arts & Crafts home.

The bell has patent dates of July 1872 and April 1873 embossed on the back. The lever bears a patent date of May 1880. The bell portion has a nickel plated bronze dome with a cast iron base. The nickel has aged to a dark grey patina. The lever was originally also nickel plated. The plating only remains on the edges with the remainder a caramel bronze patina. The interior of the bell has been cleaned and oiled.
