This circa 1885 Victorian thumb latch set abounds with Eastlake style detail! I just love these for screen doors but they can be used in other applications as well. How about that special closet or pantry door?

Installation is very simple and the latch is reversible for a right or left hand door. The door handle is mounted on one side of the door with the prong going through an elongated hole in the door. The bar/lock mechanism is mounted on the other side of the door with the elongated hole in the metal going over the hole in the door. The prong from the door handle comes through to lift the bar when the thumb latch is pushed down. The prong itself serves to unlatch the door from the other side. The keeper is mounted on the door jamb so that the bar rests in the top notch when door is closed.

Antique slotted steel mounting screws (not pictured) are included. The set has been cleaned and can be used as is or finished as you wish. Since there is no oil on the parts they are ready for paint or lacquer. I would suggest several coats of paint/lacquer (all sides) if you will be using the set for an exterior door.

For other screen door hardware enter the keyword SCREEN in the Search box to the left of your monitor.

This set will fit doors up to 1-1/4 thick.
Handle: 6-1/2 tall
Off-side Latch: 4 x 2-5/8
