Although their exact age is unknown, these little wood doorstops were used as far back as 1884 perhaps longer. Just screw them into the baseboard to keep your door handles from hitting your wall. They are as useful now as they were then and are the perfect finishing touch for a period home.
Some people like them painted, some like them stained and some want the old chippy paint. With that in mind Ive left them as found so their new owners can decide how they want to restore them (if at all). They are lightweight wood so Im guessing probably fir. The wood grain is too close to be pine. All the screws are straight and tight and the wood has no cracks or chips. The rubber bumpers are long gone but a black rubber cone washer (plumbing dept. at your hardware store) works perfectly. They have a depressed area in the middle with a hole. Just screw the washer on the doorstop. As you can see in the photo, there is a hole to accept the screw.
There are several available but the price above is for one doorstop.
Diameter against mounting surface is 1-3/8
Projects 2-1/2 (without bumper)
