Antique - Vintage Door Hardware

Antique door hardware creates a perfect marriage of architectural form and function. The "form" is the beautiful design and construction that pleases the eye, while the "function" provides a method of opening, closing, and sometimes locking, the door. The largest manufacturers of antique hardware during the Victorian era were P. & F. Corbin, Russell and Erwin Manufacturing Company, Sargent and Company and Yale and Towne Manufacturing Company. Other smaller firms providing artistic builders hardware were Reading, Niles Chicago, Penn, Trenton, Nashua, Phoenix, Lockwood, Russwin, Hopkins & Dickenson, Mallory Wheeler, Branford, F. C. Linde, Union Brass and A. G. Newman - certainly not a complete list! Competition was fierce and resulted in some of the most exceptional metal artistry in history.
