This little latch makes it easy to get in and out of the house with your hands full! The latch operates with lever handles rather than knobs and is adorned with loads of Eastlake style detail.  As pretty as it is the condition is even more outstanding.  Made by Sargent & Co. around 1905 it doesn’t appear to have ever been used. It still has the dark varnish type finish that imparts a slightly golden hue. The strike plate, also an antique, has a bit of bronze wash so it goes well with it. The little button on the front locks the door for security and works perfectly.

This latch is for an outward swinging door and could also be used for a small interior door or a large cabinet.
