This is a beautiful set made by Russell & Erwin around 1905 with the named pattern “Racine”. This is a very elegant set that would compliment any architectural style.
The door plates are heavy cast (not pressed) brass with copper plating that remains completely intact. One of the knobs has some wear to the plating on one edge. The spindle is stuck in one knob but that isn’t really a problem because that’s where it’s supposed to be. The other knob allows adjustment for door thickness. The spacers (included) allow for a door thickness as thin as 1-3/8”. The original Russell & Erwin lock has been cleaned (leaving the patina on the copper plated steel lock face) and works perfectly. It is reversible for a right or left hand door. Open the lock casing, turn the strike over and close the lock again!
