This antique rim or box lock is from the late 1800s and is in “as found” condition with surface rust and worn black paint on the exterior.  The inside is another matter. I’ve taken the lock apart and cleaned each piece and even coated the interior of the casing with a rust inhibitor to protect it. Use “as is” for a rustic look, oil the outside to darken and clean the rust showing, repaint the entire lock black or even the color of your door…. The options are yours!

This lock operates perfectly. For security there is a finger latch on top that keeps the knobs from rotating. This secures the door from the lock side. The deadbolt can be thrown from either side of the door. The lock is reversible for a right or left hand door depending on which side you mount to the door.  The strike is reversed by just opening the case and flipping it over.  You may order a skeleton key (or keys) by going to DSP1007  These locks are the easiest ever to install!  Go to Helpful Information for directions.

This set includes the lock, keeper, rosette and keyhole cover.  This door hardware was most frequently installed with porcelain or mineral clay (black, brown & swirled) doorknobs. To purchase those doorknobs enter "rim lock" (with quotes) in the Search box and you will see all items relating to rim locks.
