This lock is made by Branford Lock Works and was made in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. It bears their BLW logo on the nose of the deadbolt and on the cast iron casing. It was patented on July 21, 1863 (5?). All of the old paint and rust have been removed – inside and out – and it operates flawlessly. All of the pieces have been individually oiled to ensure that it remains that way.

The thick cast brass or bronze face plate has patina retained. There are a few scratches and dings as is standard with locks this old. Reversible for right or left hand doors. Just open the casing and flip the strike over. I do not have a key for this lock. If you wish to use the deadbolt function you will need to have one made by your local locksmith. I guarantee the deadbolt function works.

Faceplate: 7/8” x 5-1/2”
Spacing: 2-1/8”  (center of doorknob hole to center of round portion of keyhole)
