Made by Sargent & Co. around 1890 this pattern has a rather Moorish influence. The steel plates and locks have varied degrees of bronze plating left which speaks to their age. The glossy black glazed clay knobs are a stunning contrast. These sets come complete with matching hard-to-find mounting screws and two skeleton keys!

The pressed steel door plates, with bronze doorknob collars, are all nice and straight with no dents or dings. The door knobs are in excellent condition with only a couple of small flea bites (fill in with black paint if you choose). Two are stuck on the spindles because the screw wont come out. Thats really no problem because thats where the knobs are supposed to be. With the included doorknob spacers they still allow a door thickness of 1-3/8 1-3/4 well within the range of standard doors. All locks are in excellent working order and four can be reversed for right or left hand doors by simply opening the case and flipping the strike over. The screw to open the case is stuck on one and it would have to be used on a right hand door. That lock is shown in the main photo and is the one on the left of the group picture. These locks are keyed alike and the two new skeleton keys work the deadbolts of all locks. There are no strike plates included. Reproductions are easily obtained.
