Hard to find 4 matching rim or box lock sets in the same place! From around the turn of the century (1800-1900) they now look brand new with their restored shiny black paint. Note the fancy little keyhole covers! The price above is for one set of 4 rim locks with trim.  You will receive everything shown in the photo.

All locks operate perfectly. For security there is a finger latch on top that keeps the knobs from rotating. This secures the door from the lock side. The deadbolt can be thrown from either side of the door. One reproduction skeleton key is included and it operates all but one lock. On that one it only works from one side. Nothing wrong with the lock but sometimes these reproduction keys can be fussy. It won’t matter if that lock is mounted with the non-functional side facing into the room. You would seldom (if ever) use the key from that side. If you want to order more of that same key you can do so by going to DS1007

The locks were taken apart and cleaned with all traces of rust and old paint removed. The lock casings (inside and out), finger latches, deadbolts and casing screws were then painted individually. Everything was then reassembled. The other cast iron parts were cleaned and painted the same way – even the doorknob shafts. Gloss black lacquer suitable to auto painting was used.  The paint is flawless. The white porcelain doorknobs have a flared shaft for the lock side of the door with a straight shaft for the rosette. The porcelain has age spots and one has a bit of crackling – all typical for these old doorknobs. Crackling is highly sought so use that one for a special door!

The locks are reversible for a right or left hand door depending on which side you mount to the door. The strike is reversed by opening the lock and flipping it over. These locks are the easiest ever to install!  Go to Helpful Information for directions for lock hand and installation.
